It is a great pleasure and honor to invite you to the next European Course in Paediatric Radiology ECPR 2022 to occur on Wednesday October 5 until Friday, October 7, 2022 in Heraklion, Crete, Greece.

This year’s topic will be Paediatric Chest, heart and neck Imaging, presented by an international faculty of renowned speakers in the field of paediatric radiology.

The ECPR 2022 follows the ECPR 2021 virtual MSK Course. It will be the second course of the 3-year Paediatric Radiology Educational Curriculum leading to the acquisition of the European Diploma in Pediatric Radiology (EDiPR). Trainees interested in education and accreditation in paediatric imaging are encouraged to complete all three ECPR courses along with module I of the European Course of Paediatric Neuroradiology (ECPNR) to be eligible for the final EDiPR test.

The ECPR 2022 course in Heraklion will be a hybrid course, designed to welcome visitors from all over the world but also virtually, on a live-streaming platform. All speakers are expected to lecture onsite.

The venue, Aquila Atlantis Hotel, is situated at the heart of the picturesque city center, within walking distance from characteristic Venetian buildings, the Koules fortress at Old Harbour, the fascinating archeological, historical and natural history museums, beautiful cathedral and churches, many friendly outdoor cafes, traditional and modern cuisine restaurants, welcoming hotels and fashionable shops. The Bronze Age palace of Knossos, is located within 4 kms and the airport within 2 kms.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Transportation: There are direct flights from numerous European countries to Heraklion. You need to consider booking your flights as early as possible. Alternatively, you may fly in through Athens Airport, a passenger-friendly airport. The Course PCO may assist you, when required.
The airport is approximately 10 minutes’ drive from the course venue. You are encouraged to take a taxi, which will cost approximately 20 euros.

Currency: The official currency in Greece is the Euro.

Language: The official language spoken in Greece is Greek. Travelers will find that most locals speak English, especially those who work in restaurants, hotels and other places associated with tourism.

Climate: During October the average high temperatures are approximately 23°C (73°F) and the length of the day in Heraklion is usually 11:19. The sun rises at 06:25 and sets at 17:44. October is an ideal month to visit Heraklion [you may visit https://www.windy.com/].

On-line participants: Access to the lecture rooms on-line through live-streaming, syllabus/teaching material.

All participants: The hand-outs of the lectures will be made available on the website for registered participants at least two weeks before the course, to allow preparation for the final exam at the end of the course. Certificate of attendance, CME Credits (subject to confirmation from EACCME) will be delivered following on-line evaluation of the course through a relevant questionnaire.

ON-LINE EXAM

On occasion of the ECPR 2022, a written examination will occur online, which will be counted towards the EDiPR diploma. A successful completion of this test is a requirement to take the EDiPR examination in the future, therefore we highly encourage you to take this important step. Questions will be based on the presented sessions during the ECPR Course, therefore a valid registration to the ECPR course 2022 is required.

The examination will be held virtually on Monday, October 10 and proctored by the ESPR in collaboration with the EBR.
More information about the test will be e-mailed to participants upon registration for the test.

The fee is 75€.

JUNIOR GRANTS

The ESPR will provide grants to encourage attendance at the European course of Paediatric Radiology 2022. Financial support will be provided to eligible radiologists in training (residents/fellows) or young radiologists active in the field of paediatric radiology planning to attend the ECPR 2022.

Junior grants offering at minimum the Course registration fee and the Course test fee will be supported. The final number of grants and amount of Euros per Grant will be decided by the ESPR EC and the Board, depending on the number of applicants.
